Organization Profile
New Himalayan Organisation for Peoples' Education is (HOPE) is a not for profit, non-governmental, voluntary development organisation registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 in the Union Territory of Delhi. New HOPE is an organisation which believes in People, their strength and insight, and their ability to work collectively to resolve the problems. New HOPE started operations in August 1992 with a group of people primarily from Kangra region in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
The Society is formed to work, develop, and identify as an association of and for the upliftment of the poor, the deprived, the marginalized, and the neglected, especially women and children from the disadvantaged section of society. The organization seeks to help people to identify their problems and find solutions collectively.
The organization aims to raise a 'new hope' in the lives of poor people of Himachal Pradesh through
· Acting as guide to remove their hardships,
· Acting as an advocate for the development of the people,
· creating a new social atmosphere, a link between civil society and government, and
· acting as a campaign in the everyday struggle for survival.
Society is based on equality, justice, fraternity, education and health for all.

Some Success Stories of New HOPE
· Initiating SWAPAN, an unregistered organisation producing women hosiery products, School /office/travel/adventure bags;
· Organised the weavers in Mandi that lead to doubling of their income;
· Organised Pre Election Voters Awareness Campaign for Panchayats;
· Organised the Bamboo Workers & providing advanced training for skill up-gradation.
· Organised the Panchayat Pratinidhi Jagarukta Abhiyan for Panchayat Representatives.
