New Himalayan Organisation for People’s Education (HOPE) has been working in the State of Himachal Pradesh since 1992. It was incepted with a vision of preserving the rich culture of mountain rural communities by reinstalling the values, traditions, practices and skills that have sustained the communities for so many centuries, Starting with few panchayats in Bhawarna Block in Kangra the activities of New HOPE now cover the districts of Kangra, Mandi, Chamba, Una and Hamirpur. New HOPE started with intervention in the field of livelihoods promotion, working primarily with the women of arid Changar areas of Kangra. The activities covered water conservation, initiating child care centres, starting tailoring training centres. The scope of activities now encompasses the issues of livelihoods, environment preservation, local self-governance, rural finance and cultural heritage promotion. The focus of these activities is rural and tribal population especially the women and youth.

From the early days of his professional journey, he recognized the importance of addressing social issues and has tirelessly worked towards creating a better world for all. With his extensive experience and expertise, he has played a significant role in designing and implementing various programs and initiatives that have uplifted countless lives. His unwavering dedication and passion for social change have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and peers.

Anshul Sharma

President

He has been working as a senior accountant in the social sector for the past 10 years. His extensive experience and expertise in financial management have made him an invaluable asset to the organization. Throughout his tenure, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial records and reports. With his strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, he has successfully managed the financial affairs of various social projects, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial operations.
